Don & Teresa Martin ![]() E. Paul Waggoner built in approximately 1954 a round block building about 20' in circumference with a large pen where Poco Bueno was allowed to run in the day time and was more visible and easily seen for those who came to visit him. It is still standing today. |

Welcome to the Historical Santa Rosa Stud in Vernon, Texas, which was the home of the great quarter horse legend Poco Bueno and where Tiny's Gay, Bunny Bid, The Signature, Jet Deep, Game Plan, Super Sound Charge and other great quarter horse legends stood. Built in 1945 by E. Paul Waggoner and recently purchased in October 2007 by Santa Rosa Joint Venture LLC. Santa Rosa Joint Venture LLC. is only the third owner in it's 62 year history. Santa Rosa Stud will be offering Quarter Horse Breeders quality performance, cutting and ranch horse stallions standing stud and will be open to the public beginning with the breeding season in 2008. All offspring from quarter horse stallions standing at Santa Rosa Stud will be eligible for the Breeder's Futurity in their 3 year old year. Also at Santa Rosa Stud, Dillon Crumpler will be available for cutting horse training. |
